The area bears significant historical value as it was the childhood neighborhood of the renowned poet and reporter, Kleanthis Triandafylloy, widely known as “Rabagas,” during the 1850s. The nickname originated from the progressive political and satirical magazine Rabagas, which he founded in 1878, inspired by the French comedy book of the same name published by Victorien Sardou in 1872.
